Last Post of 2014

Well 2014 is heading into the past so I thought I would do a last posting of some images I never got around to. These are more of the 3D cardboard illustrations that I presented in an earlier post and more digital illustration created in Photoshop. 2014 was a busy year for me I did some more app art and created many more digital paintings/drawings, created more storyboards and was in a few shows. All and all I few like I have created more in this year than previous years. The funny thing is I got behind in my postings much of the time. Anyways everyone have a great 2015. Cheers. PS:Okay so I tried to post it in the end of 2014 but it ended up posting in 2015. But it is ab out 25 minutes in. ;) Cheers.

Where has drawrick been?

I was hoping to keep a steady 2 postings a month or more going on, but here we are in October so I missed posting in August and September. Hey they say time flies, but this is ridiculous! So a few things that kept me busy were the San Diego Comic Con, a family reunion in New York, finally wrapping up and publishing my comic book DOCBOT, The Alternative Press Expo. In the mix was also some on site storyboard/presentation drawing at GYRO an ad/media agency. So finally I got back to this blog. In this posting is my FANTASTIC FOUR image I created for the 42nd COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: SAN DIEGO SOUVENIR BOOK.

Also I am posting a picture of my DOCBOT comic the was co-created by Michael V. Bennett. http://bennettblacklight.com/

Now back to creating and in addition looking for more work. Cheers!

Happy Birthday America!

Okay so I am a few days early with this, but I will probably not have time to post it on the 4th of July. Anyways here is a fast digital Photoshop painting I did in the spirit of this time. I am also looking forward to the film coming up in a few weeks. Have a good weekend everyone!

MARCH MODOK MADNESS

I really dig this MARCH MODOK MADNESS blog big time seeing I like all Kirby creations and his MODOK one always left an impression on me. A few years ago I created a homage character to MODOK I named Maximillon pictured above. Well now I have christened him retroactively FOMODOK or father of MODOK if you will and this last Friday he was posted on the MARCH MODOK MADNESS blog. Here is the link...http://marchmodokmadness.blogspot.com/2011/03/submitted-modok-rick-lucey.html If you are a creator go ahead and create your MODOK and send it to the blog. Here is a fun Kirby page with I believe the earliest MODOK appearance. http://kirbymuseum.org/blogs/kirby/archives/231 You can also find MODOK on THE AVENGERS animated show on DISNEY HD currently.
