I hope to post more that once a month and here is a second post in the last day or so. Here are some recent on location watercolor paintings created on a San Francisco beach and some drawings from some recent Sketch Tuesday and Quick Draw SF sessions.

Halloween 2014 Digital Paintings
Halloween 2014 is now ending and I keep forgetting to post some of my digital paintings of Halloween/horror imagery I have created over the past few months. Here are five of them and the scare crow one I created in the last few hours. I didn't create as much of these types of illustrations this year as I was busy with other things this past month. Anyways may all of you have a great Halloween this year and an even better one next year. Chills!

Galveston House Paintings
Back in early March my brother and his wife commissioned me to create some large nautical themed paintings for their rental house. So here I am finally getting around to posting them. The mermaid painting was the smallest of the group and I did it just before I caught a flight home. Anyways it was fun to have a chance to create some of these large paintings and even do a bit of experimenting in the mix.

Was I Ahead Of The Curve?! ;)
POSSIBLE SPOILER PLOT POINT IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE OF THE NEW BLACK DYNAMITE CARTOON SERIES...Here it is to watch 'Just Beat It Or Jackson Five Across Yo' Eyes'
Okay now that I have that out of the way the other day I finally got around to watching the new BLACK DYNAMITE animated series on Adult Swim. It is based off the movie of the same name that came out a few years ago. The series and film is a homage with comedy elements of the Blacksploitation films from the 1970's era. Anyway this episode dealt with the 70's era Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 with a few later elements of Michael Jackson's career thrown in the mix. In the episode we find out Michael is an alien creature adopted by the Jackson parents who disguise him as a human which was the Michael Jackson look of the 70's. Well back in 1992 for a SF Bay Guardian Cartoon Contest I created this cartoon below. I believe it was also blown up and shown in the Cartoon Art Museum gallery at the time of the contest. Now I don't claim this as a totally original idea and I am sure other creators thought of this as Michael evolved with his look at the time, I just never came across those similar ideas till now. If I did see this idea earlier I also may of forgotten about it as I see so much cartoon/parody material!;) Anyways here is my cartoon MOON WALKER below and it is pretty simple and straight forward in the idea.

TURN Storyboards
Posted here are some storyboards I did last month for Gyro an Ad/Media Agency in San Francisco that I do work for on occasion. The storyboards were for a live action 30 second ad that was filmed recently and aired during the 2012 season finale of MAD MEN on AMC. Here is a link to it...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUlt6vo6w_w I actually had time to color these storyboards which is something I rarely do and it is always fun to see how closely the director follows them. I don't expect them to really be followed all that closely seeing many a time storyboards are used as a springboard of sorts for planning and setting up shots. I have storyboarded two short films and many other live commercials in the past decade or so.

Six Watercolor Robots
This last week I was in the mood to do some fast watercolor paintings, so I whipped up a few robot designs in the mix. I wanted to go with a more simplified look with each robot. Each image is about 4 x 6 inches. Like any of my originals they can be purchased. Just contact me for details. Cheers.
